initial comprehensive assessment
Not everybody is the same. You deserve to have a doctor that listens and understands your body’s unique issues. The same type of injury can present and rehabilitate differently between people.
The assessment will include:
Learning about you: your past and current injuries or discomforts, your habits, and your goals.
Performing the necessary orthopedic and neurological tests to determine safety for care, and a working diagnosis to develop your treatment plan.
Functional movement assessment to see how your entire body moves together, to find the root cause of your injury and pain.
Based on this assessment, we will also likely start treatment on the first visit*. This may include:
chiropractic adjustment
manual therapies: myofascial release technique, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), cupping
therapeutic exercises
healthy lifestyle education on nutrition, ergonomics, stress management
passive modalities such as electrical muscle stimulation, ice, heat.
*Some injuries may require additional diagnostic testing, such as x-rays, before it is safe to receive treatment.
To prepare to the visit:
What should I wear to the visit?
Comfortable clothing to move in. Please allow access to the injured body region. For example: If you are coming in for knee pain, please wear or bring shorts.
What should I bring to the visit?
Please complete your intake forms prior to the appointment. This allows me to fully utilize our time together, already having an understanding and preparation for what you would like addressed.
I believe in treating pain but not chasing it.
I often see patients who become hesistant of movement, for fear of causing a flare up. Movement is safe and movement is necessary. I can show you how.
